h Calling!
June already! And that means I'm counting down to the release date of my "Invisible Man" diaries on June 21st. These provide a glimpse into my "real life" - mostly touring-life as it happens, but also occasional chronicles of days out with the kids, feeding the ducks, fixing the Hoover (yes I do soil my hands with screwdrivers and WD40 when really pushed). So if you want a window into what it's like to be me, well Volume 1 will show you what it was like between 1991 and 1997, when I was younger, dafter and definitely better looking. Volume 1 starts with glaciers, helicopters and Bjork in Iceland, and finishes with a private tour of the White House. And every word is true. The limited edition signed hardbacks are all sold out but the paperbacks are cheaper and you can always ask me to sign em if we bump into each other in the future (in exchange for Becks, tequilas, hard-cash and holidays in the south of France, obviously...)
In October (while Steve R is on the road), I'll perform a handful of h Natural shows to get out from under the wife's feet. If you haven't been to one of these, then it's a chance not only to hear barebones exposed renditions of my favourite "other people's songs" as well as my own, but a chance to get to know me, as they're relaxed affairs and I'm happy to answer questions and chat. In the case of the Cavern shows, this has to be moderated a little for the mouthy Liverpudlian crowd or I'd never get a song in edgeways! (C'mon you know it's true). On the other hand, in the case of Oxford, resuscitation packs tend to be necessary, so if half the Oxford crowd come to the Cavern and half the Cavern crowd come to Oxford, we should have two great nights!
Then there's the Enchanted Festival in Stock, Essex - a groovy assemblage of art, poetry and music. Right up my street. Looking forward to that too.
The only way is h Natural...
