Racket Records Job Description
This is a full-time position available from January 2009.
The person we are looking for will primarily be responsible for maintaining the entire Marillion Online website (www.marillion.com) by providing accurate, concise, timely content and regular e-mail newsletters. Additional features will also need to be developed and integrated within its current 'look and feel'. This person will be responsible for using both the bespoke administration tools provided by Racket Records and traditional web development and design tools.
Additional to these design and maintenance responsibilities the candidate will be required to use the in-house data and customer management system (training provided) to perform sales fulfillment and customer services via email to end consumers for the Marillion e-commerce web sales shop “Racket Records”.
The individual will have a natural flair in design skills whilst being able to relate this to a commercial environment. The individual will have good interpersonal and communications skills required for business contacts and website customers alike; English as a first language is a must. We are looking for a 'can do' attitude with a proactive personality that is able and comfortable working with both technical and creative people alike to strict and frequent deadlines. Must also have a very flexible attitude - working in this small and fast-paced (but enjoyable!) business environment you will have to wear many different hats at times!
Technically, we are looking for proven experience of website design, content management, and graphic design combined with relevant skills including the following: PC-based Microsoft Office Suite; HTML, DHTML, CSS, RSS, PHP, MySQL; Adobe CS3 PC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver). Would be an advantage to the business if the candidate can maintain PC-based IT equipment at a basic level (e.g. solve minor networking issues, maintain PCs and back-up hard drive systems).
At demonstrable skill is required, but need not be professional. The candidate must have reliable transportation to the Bicester/Aylesbury area as our offices are in a rural location. Salary expectations, covering letter, and CV by email to: application@marillion.com no later than 12 December 2008.
